There was also another story behind the longevity of the club Griffin Blue Book. Tested for some reason, their integrity, when a considerable sum of money was in the ladies room, which was left before and / or used after the performance. They did not. After having obtained the highest degree of confidence, was welcome to stay as long as they wanted, which was more than a decade. Ultimately, with sentiments of respect and mutualLove Of The Blue Book was one of the favorite venues of all time.

After the breakup of his second marriage, Della Griffin, unsuccessfully, married for the last time (Jimmy Walker, whose name she refused, feeling that it is not worth taking the time) and took his career to Century 21 last.

In addition, since 1980 he resumed work with Etta Jones and Irene Reid with the unit. Their efforts resulted in two albums - "I'll Get By" and "'Travlin Light", both produced by Houston Person (born 1934) and Muse records. As Muse Records folded, Della Griffin "was followed by many" of his players "to [the] newly Highnote Savant" label, in which the person produces "The Very Thought of You"who came in 1998. A short time later because of its high performance, "Griffin was invited to Finland to find out one of those most important jazz festivals in the country." [1]

After his recovery, along with Frances Kelly, Della Griffin and Shirley "Bunny" Foy appeared in "Dan Romanello Rhythm & Blues Group Harmony Review" WFUV-FM show Fordham University in New York in 1994, when he spoke of "group newfound harmonyLouie Silvan fans. "[2] After inquiries about the magician and the Dell-Tones, Della Griffin made another" "with Toni Dell group, composed by Frances Kelly, Michael and Gwen Annette St. John, the last two new members. Then they made numerous appearances on concert included "The heroines of R & B" in October 1995, including the famous Chantels, jewelry and Vikki Burgess, who is only just lost chose to replace Gary SherryTones of 40 years before, among others.

In addition to her acting gigs for the new Dell-Tones, and the recording of Muse and Highnote Records, Savant, Della Griffin participated in many solo acts clubs around the tri-state region during 1990. Some of these services include:

He also Bushnell Park in Hartford CT in July 1995 and 1996 as" "sing" one of the most valuable show stopper ... 'Tain' t no business "and" All of Me "[5] and Rich Forum in Stamford, CT performed during the concert in February 1998 to July 1995, was written." singer Della Griffin, decorated in shades, a warmpink suit and matching hat, almost stole the show, as they ran toward the front of the stage and began to sing "All of Me" in a wonderful gritty, lived in the kind of voice ... "[6]

Della Griffin has continued his musical career in the 21st Century make appearances in New York City, Westchester County and Newark, New Jersey, one of which included a 3-hour long performance at the Renaissance Jazz Cafe at 195 Mulberry Street, May 2003, the others.

AlthoughGriffin's never had their children and a demanding career, he found time to be a philanthropist. Despite their reputation, and 50 + year career, has taken in more than 40 foster children, many of raising children. As a result, it was like "Aunt Delia" is described and, as with one voice "beautiful enough to Billie Holiday, (a jazz legend and dear friend) and big heart [a] enough to take in more than a dozen of sons. recall "[7]

When his Mt Vernon, NY homesuffered serious damage from the fire a pre-Christmas 2004 fire, the oldest 6 years old foster child who accidentally started by a candle, a benefit concert with Irene Reid and Houston Person, was shot among other things, is was, were, from jazz foundation to cover the conversion costs $ 15,000. And some of their foster children ultimately return to the house was rebuilt shortly before the summer of 2005.

During his career he held significant Della Griffin has performed in venuesaround the world, including some of the most famous jazz clubs. He also created two groups of women - the magician and the Dell Tones band sang for William "Count" Basie, as well as models and shared the stage with legends - "Who's Who of jazz and blues singer Etta Jones, including" [8 ] and Gloria Coleman, a soul singer, among others.

After a "singer can count on for performance on the move ..." a"Voice [that] fills sings the songs, weaving their way into your heart ..." [9] in the class of Billie Holiday (her husband stopped for a little holiday 'every week after Billie "to listen to some other Spring" interpretation of Griffin to death because she reminded him of his deceased wife) and Etta Jones, Della Griffin, a jazz legend in his own right, in the Encyclopedia of Jazz that she mentions "a bold step forward, [and when the MagicianDell Toni], a pioneering group of female vocal music together ... decided on a course usually reserved for men to compete. Music "If others have decided to marry and tend to the family and despite the setbacks and adversities they faced, Della Griffin was the heart with the music in their words." Brings me great joy. It always makes me smile. "[10]

In addition to music, Della Griffin had other passions. She loved sewing and crocheting since she was a girl, and she enjoyedSizzler restaurant kitchen (now defunct) at Cross County in Yonkers, NY, and the supermarket, especially for different types of food, drinks and candy. At the same time, their favorite colors are purple and black, the latter, who have adopted during their later years.

At the same time, despite his success and fame, as well as the most difficult tests exposed Della Griffin faith remained strong. As a result, it serves as an inspiring model of Christian- Clothing, nutrition, shelter and care for children in difficult circumstances over the years through all adopted children are cared for and loved as if they proved their own blood. Consequently, because of the love of God, one of her favorite activities when she is able and fit, took care of the children in frequent visits to Lourdes of America in the church of S. Lucy in the Bronx, NY, to enrich the spirituality of the family and to receive the blessing of the sanctuaries"It has the power of healing, considered miraculous." Water [11]

After that, (with a big smile) and Etta Jones performed a duet singing "To the east of the sun and west of the moon, we have a dream house of love build" followed by "standing ovation, the other by the musician." [12] Ironically, It 'was one of the last shows Etta Jones, before succumbing to cancer less than threeMonths later.

In addition, in recognition of the results Della Griffin, wrote the '(NJ), Newark Star-Ledger in the upcoming discussion of a jazz concert to Ivy Hill, NJ, where Dave Braham and his jazz band, was the Latin Jazz Quartet, the main attraction - "Braham is actually a master organist, with singers like Irene Reid argued, Arthur Prysock (born 1929) and Della Griffin." "[14] In addition, the (CT) Hartford Courant wrote when Fred Smith, a traveling exhibit" workaholic ", jazz trumpeter, said: "Aside from Smith's Swingcommon sense, his band, the most important asset of saxophonist David "Bubba" Smith, a fat-toned saxophonist and Della Griffin, a singer ... Griffin is looking petite and grandmother with a wonderful, soul shaking voice that all but the channel can be honored long-dead spirit of Billie Holiday. Their gritty, lived in tone is delicious. Especially when you throw in a holiday signature song like "Fine and Mellow" with its irony, the melancholy lyrics ... "[15] and"The guitarist has also led to other albums soon to be published by McDuff, Hampton, Della Griffin and Larry O'Neill play" [16], when it comes to Randy Johnston, a jazz and blues artists.

Natalie Babbitt's beloved, wistful fantasy novel has been brought to life with an eye toward bucolic timelessness by Disney and director Jay Russell. It's that magical sense of the non-specific that composer William Ross has been charged with evoking in composing the film's orchestral score. As he did in his previous collaboration with Russell, the underrated My Dog Skip, Ross leans heavily on tradition and sentimentality without becoming the slave of either. His emotionally enchanting score is seasoned by the evocative use of Gaelic wind instruments and pastoral string passages, yet tempered by playfully exotic massed tribal percussion on "Cave Dance" and spare, ringing Tom Newman -esque piano chords set against swirling Middle Eastern string instruments elsewhere. It's masterful stuff, concocted for maximum melancholy emotional effect yet delivered with understated subtlety--and more than a few richly rewarding musical left turns. --Jerry McCulley
